Grants
Arbel Grants specializes in assisting technology based companies to enhance their success rates in securing grants from the Israeli Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS), US federal programs, Bi-national funds (BIRD, CIIRDF, SIIRD, KORIL) and multi-national collaboration agreements.
Government grants offer an attractive financing solution for supporting R&D activities. Grants are a low risk, non-dilutive financing option, where in most cases repayment is ‘success based’ and is paid back as small percentage of sales of products sponsored by granted funds.
As such, government grants are a highly competitive source of funding. In 2006, requests for funding from OCS sources alone amounted to $1.1 billion, while only $240 million were granted.
Arbel Grants allows companies to optimize their success rate by securing the expert advice required to support their application process:
- Arbel’s expert advice significantly increases the chances of securing funding. Records show that only 60% of companies that apply directly are granted funding, versus the 90% of companies who seek professional counsel in the application process.
- Deep understanding of the procedures in the budget sections of the grant applications allows Arbel clients to significantly increase the amount of funding received.
- As technological innovation and potential for revenue generation are decisive factors for receiving grants, the Arbel team includes experienced technical personnel and seasoned entrepreneurs with vast market understanding, who are able to best present the company’s innovative offering.
To ensure Arbel clients maximize their grant potential, we apply a unique methodology, including:
- Feasibility examination – objectively evaluating the potential for application success.
- Matching case to grant type – considering the various grants available, we direct Arbel clients to the most suitable sources, and in most cases to more than one type of grant.
- Application consulting – administrative assistance in the application process.
- Audit preparation – after receiving the application forms, the funding entities conduct an onsite evaluation of the company, its management team, product offering and target market that ends with a thorough preparation of the company.
- Post-grant consulting – ongoing support in adherence to funding body requirements as quarterly reports, payments, grant renewal applications, etc.
